MattSiv is Mattrec’s upgraded sediment‑control sock, designed to prevent unwanted siltation from entering waterways, stormwater systems, and environmentally sensitive areas. Each MattSiv is made from recycled mattress fibre, giving new purpose to material that would otherwise be sent to landfill. By converting end‑of‑life mattresses into a practical civil‑use product, MattSiv supports a circular economy while delivering reliable, easy‑to‑use sediment‑control performance on site.
Upgraded Diameter for Better Performance
The latest MattSiv generation features an increased diameter to approximately 180 mm, providing:

This upgrade delivers stronger civil‑grade performance while maintaining the same 2 m length and easy handling.
How MattSiv Works
Each MattSiv contains the recycled fibre from more than one double‑sized mattress. The material is processed, filled, compressed, and rolled into a compact unit that is simple to transport, store, and deploy. Compression significantly reduces bulk, making delivery more efficient and allowing contractors, landscapers, and property owners to keep multiple units on hand without taking up valuable storage space.
Once unrolled, MattSiv expands to its full size and can be shaped or positioned as needed. Water passes through the A14 Class A filter wrap while fine sediment particles are captured, making MattSiv ideal for:

landscaping works
access tracks
erosion‑prone areas
Its flexible design contours to uneven ground, creating a more effective seal than rigid alternatives and improving real‑world sediment‑capture performance.
Lightweight, Durable, and Recyclable

At the end of their working life, MattSiv units can be returned to Mattrec for responsible recycling. We reclaim and reprocess the fibre wherever possible, ensuring the material continues its circular journey rather than becoming waste.
